An experienced laboratory animal pathologist and clinical veterinarian, and a longtime medical professor in the University of Illinois system, Dr. Susan Ball-Kell brings more than three decades of experience to her current role as the president of Global Path Imaging and Consulting, a firm she launched in 2010. The company provides a wide range of services, including histologic slide imaging and microscopic analysis of laboratory animal research tissues. In addition to serving as president, Dr. Ball-Kell also works as a veterinary pathologist and digital imaging consultant for the firm. Prior to founding Global Path Imaging and Consulting, Dr. Ball-Kell spent nearly two decades as a clinical professor with the University of Illinois system, where she currently serves as an adjunct clinical associate professor of pathology in the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory at the College of Veterinary Medicine on the Urbana-Champaign campus. During her tenure with the University, she has held several leadership positions, including serving as section head for the Program for Comparative Pathology of Laboratory and Genetically Engineered Animals. In addition to her work with Global Path Imaging and Consulting, Dr. Ball-Kell is a scientific adviser to TargaCell, a leading provider of non-invasive stem cell delivery technologies.

Dr. Susan Ball-Kell received her bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, doctorate in Veterinary Medicine, and dual PhD in Pathology and Environmental Toxicology all from Michigan State University.
